Man remanded over PC stabbing
A 27-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of PC Jon Henry.
Tennyson Obih, from Luton, appeared before Luton Magistrates charged with PC Henry's murder, as well as the attempted murder of two other men - Steven Chamberlain and David Knight - and trespass with intent to steal while in possession of a weapon.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Luton Crown Court on June 26.
PC Henry, 36, was fatally stabbed in Luton town centre on Monday morning, after responding to reports that a man was attacking a window cleaner with a knife in George Street.
He was stabbed as he struggled with the attacker, who was eventually restrained after officers used a baton round and Taser stun gun.
Senior police officers confirmed that PC Henry was wearing a protective vest when the attack occurred.
PC Henry was married and had a baby daughter, Maggie, who will turn one in a few weeks.
A statement issued on behalf of his wife, Mary, on Tuesday, described him as: "fun-loving, a true friend, a loyal and devoted husband and father".
Speaking at a press conference, Mrs Henry described her husband as her "best friend".
