Police investigation into boy's 'abduction' continues
Police in Worcestershire are continuing to investigate reports that a boy was seen being shoved into the boot of car.
Police received a report that a boy, aged around nine, was seen being bundled into the boot of a red Vauxhall Astra in Tredington Close in Woodrow around 7:15pm on Wednesday evening.
The boy was described as white, 4ft tall with cropped brown hair and dark eyes, possible brown.
However, police said that they have no far been unable to substantiate the allegation, in spite of extensive inquiries, but said that the investigation would continue until they were "completely satisfied" that no child was at risk.
Superintendent Kevin Purcell said that he was mindful of the fact that there were situations in which children alternated contact with their parents, meaning that each parent might believe that their child was staying with the other. He urged parents in this situation to check on their child's whereabouts.
He also appealed for a girl who was seen walking a dog in the area at the time of the reported abduction to contact police.
Police have also appealed for the owners of red Astras and similar vehicles who were in the area at the time to contact them.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on: 08457 444888 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
