More time granted to quiz triple murder suspect

Police have been granted extra time to question a man on suspicion of murdering a mother and her two teenage children.

The bodies of Beverley Samuels, 36, her daughter Kesha Wizzart, 18, and 13-year-old son Fred Junior Wizzart were found in their home in Thelwall Avenue in Fallowfield, Manchester last Thursday evening.

Post-mortem examinations revealed that the family all died from head injuries.

A former friend of Ms Samuels, 32-year-old Pierre Williams was arrested on suspicion of murder in Birmingham on Saturday.

Police now have until 11:30pm on Monday to continue questioning him about the killings.

Mrs Samuels had worked as a nurse at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Kesha had appeared on the junior version of ITV's 'Stars In Their Eyes' three years ago. She had just completed her A-Levels and had won a scholarship to study law at the University of Manchester.

Fred had dyslexia and attended a special school, the St John Vianney School in Stretford.

On Tuesday, police appealed for a taxi driver, whom they believe could provide vital information in the case, to come forward.

The taxi driver, who is described as middle-aged, Asian and wearing gold-rimmed glasses, dropped a man off at an address on Manor Road in Levenshulme between 9am and 9:15am on July 12. The man then came out about ten minutes later and police said that they believed that the taxi driver took him to Manchester city centre, where he may have been dropped off at Piccadilly Station, or possible a bus station.

Police also said that prior to the stop on Manor Road, the driver may have picked up a passenger in the Fallowfield area.

The passenger was described as black, in his early thirties, around 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and wearing a black leather jacket.

Detective Superintendent Ian Foster said: "If this sounds familiar to any cab driver, I would urge you to contact our incident room on: 0161 8563691. You may hold vital information which could be of great help to the investigation."
