British Security Worker Shot Dead In Afghanistan

A British man working for a private security firm in Afghanistan has been killed, the Foreign Office has confirmed.

The unnamed man is understood to have worked for ArmorGroup. He was shot dead in the Afghan capital Kabul on Wednesday.

No further details have been released about the man.

ArmorGroup is a private security group, which provides protection for those working on reconstruction projects in Afghanistan. The company has around 1,200 staff in the country.

Former British soldier killed in Iraq
A former British soldier, who was in Iraq working as a private security guard, has been shot dead in the town of Hit, it has been reported today. Former Paratrooper Michael John Bloss, 38, from Bridgend, south Wales, was killed while protecting three electrical contractors, according to reports emerging today.

British man arrested on rape charge in Thailand
A British man wanted in connection with the alleged rape of an eight-year-old girl has been arrested in Thailand. Sean McMahon, 45, was arrested by police in Bangkok following a request by the British embassy. He had been working as an English teacher in the capital.
