Police To Quiz Victim Of Majorca Hotel Fall
Spanish police are continuing to investigate the case of a woman who was found dead two days after her daughter was left seriously injured in a fall from their hotel balcony in Majorca.
The authorities hope they will be able to speak to seven-year-old Gianna Cooper - although she remains in a coma - about how she came to fall from the fifth floor of the Samoa Hotel in Calas de Majorca.
Her mother, Sara, 45, disappeared after her daughter was first discovered and her body was later found washed up in a seaside cave in Porto Cristo in Cala Domingos, near the hotel, around 5pm on Wednesday.
A post-mortem was carried out on our body on Thursday. Police confirmed that she drowned at sea.
Mrs Cooper had been on holiday with her husband, Ian, Gianna and two of the couple's sons.
A police spokesperson said they were investigating two possibilities - that Gianna fell from the balcony by accident or was pushed.
Police want to speak to her when she has recovered, the spokesperson said, but added that there was a possibility that she would be unable to remember anything.
