Arrest Follows 'Brutal' Murder
Police investigating the murder of Polish teenager Lidia Motylska in Leeds earlier this month have arrested a 38-year-old man.
Lidia, 19, was found dead in an alleyway in the Lincoln Green area of Leeds on October 23. West Yorkshire Police said that she had been subjected to a "brutal attack".
Lidia, who lived with her mum in Beeston, initially came to the UK in January. She returned to Poland for three months before coming back to Leeds in April. She worked at a cafe in Harehills.
On Monday, police released CCTV footage of Lidia on the Number Three bus. The teenager got on the bus at Dewsbury Road at around 6.10pm and got off the bus on North Street at 6.40pm.
The images of Lidia show that she was sat on the front seats at the driver's side on the top deck on the bus. She was wearing a distinctive black and white hat.
Another passenger came and sat beside her. It is also known that Lidia received a call on her mobile phone while she was on the bus.
Detective Superintendent Bill Shackleton, who is leading the enquiry, said: "We need to speak to the members of the public who were on the Number 3 bus at the same time as Lidia.
"We especially need the person who came and sat next to Lidia to contact police. The passenger may have information about the phone call that Lidia received while on the bus.
"We know that Lidia got off the bus at North Street. Did you get off at this stop with Lidia? Do you know what she did once she got off the bus?
"It is vital that anyone with information gets in touch to piece together Lidia's final moments."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact: 0113 2053011. The CCTV footage can be viewed at: www.westyorkshire.police.uk
