Three Held Over Liverpool Killing
Police have arrested three people following the brutal killing of a 56-year-old man in Liverpool.
He was found shot dead after police officers were called to a house on Maritime Place shortly after 11pm on Wednesday.
The victim was found lying in a bedroom with a number of gunshot wounds and the area around the victim's home has been sealed off.
A man, 21, from Islington, a 27-year-old man from Old Swan and a man, 34, from Wavertree, have since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detectives said they believe the killing was a targeted attack.

A 23-year-old man has been found guilty of killing his girlfriend's young son. Robert Cunningham, denied murdering 23-month-old Brandon Muir, who died in Dundee in March 2008 after suffering a catalogue of injuries. However, Cunningham was convicted of a lesser charge of culpable homicide at the High Court in Glasgow.

Suspect Found Dead In Prison
The man accused of killing a Polish woman - whose body was found in a suitcase - has been found dead in prison. Ziaul Haque, 27, of Drummond Street, Camden Town, was found hanged in his cell by staff at Winchester jail on Monday just after 9am. Attempts were made to resuscitate Haque, who was on remand awaiting trial.
