Man Arrested Over Matalan Manager Killing
A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a Matalan store manager in east London at the weekend.
Jamie Simpson, 33, from Herne Hill in south London, was stabbed in the neck as he cashed up at the Matalan store in Kingsland Shopping Centre in Hackney on Saturday evening.
Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 26-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday night. He remains in custody at an east London police station.
Matalan have offered a £40,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for Jamie's death.

Mother 'Devastated' By Son's Murder
The mother of a Matalan shop manager, murdered in an east London branch of the store at the weekend, has said that she has been "totally devastated" by his son. Lorna Simpson, 52, from Derby, has appealed for help in catching the killers of her son, Jamie Simpson.

Handicapped Girl's Rapist Jailed
A rapist has been sentenced at Inner London Crown Court following his earlier conviction. Rafal Piotr Smucz, 29, of no fixed address was jailed indefinitely and ordered to serve a minimum of six years.

Man Shot By Police In East London
A man has been arrested in an east London hospital where he is being treated for gunshot wounds. It is understood that the man was shot by armed police at around 8.15pm in the Hale End Road in Walthamstow. Police had responded to reports of a man with a handgun.

East London Murder Appeal
Detectives have appealed for information about the murder of a woman in Manor Park. Aliza Ahmed Mirza, 18, a student from Ilford, died on Saturday 3 April. Police had been called to reports of a collapsed female. It is believed she was stabbed while in the Forest View Road area. Miss Mirza was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.
