Mother 'Devastated' By Son's Murder

The mother of a Matalan shop manager, murdered in an east London branch of the store at the weekend, has said that she has been "totally devastated" by his son.

Lorna Simpson, 52, from Derby, has appealed for help in catching the killers of her son, Jamie Simpson.

The 33-year-old from Herne Hill in south London was stabbed in the neck as he cashed up at the Matalan store in Kingsland Shopping Centre in Hackney on Saturday evening.

Police believe that three men were lying in wait in the shop to confront him as he counted the day's takings.

It is believed that they then fled the scene via a rear car park in Dalston Lane.

Matalan have offered a £40,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for Jamie's death.

Police have also released CCTV footage of the suspects.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on: 0208 345 1585 or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
