Murder Probe For Hit And Run Death Driver
A woman has been killed in Scotland in what is believed to be a deliberate hit and run crash.
A murder hunt is now underway after the victim, identified as Margaret Boris, a 39-year-old mum of three, was killed in Paisley.
Police believe she was knocked down deliberately, as she walked along the town's King Street at around 11am on Monday.
More details have emerged about this horrific incident, which took place at the heart of Paisley's West End.
Margaret Boris was living in Irvine, but originated from Paisley and was walking along the street with a male companion, believed to be her son.
They were just about to cross a lane when a car emerged, struck Margaret with such force that she landed in the middle of the road - the car then drove over her and turned right into the busy Broomlands Road.
Detective Chief Inspector John Weir from Strathclyde Police said: "The information we've received so far from witnesses at the scene is that the car drove over the woman deliberately - it was no accident.
"The car is described as a silver Volkswagen Polo type car, or similar and we believe it had one occupant."
The incident took place in a busy area with shops, houses and with it being the school holiday, lots of families around. Police hope someone will come forward with information about the identity of the driver.
