Boy's Body Recovered From River
Police have recovered the body of a 10-year-old boy who was swept away by a river.
It is understood the youngster fell into the River Severn and was reported missing on Sunday at 8pm.
The body was discovered at around 9.45am by a member of the public about 400 yards from the Passage Inn on the east bank of the river.
Gloucestershire Police said the boy had been playing with friends on the mud flats of the river near Arlingham when he fell into deep water.
A police spokesperson said: "It is unclear what the boy was doing at the time, but he was in the company of other youths."
The spokesman continued, saying "it appears to be some kind of tragedy rather than a deliberate act".
Police confirmed that family members had gathered at the scene and where waiting nearby to discover the fate of the youngster.
The coroner has been informed.

River body identified as missing boy
A body found in a river in Fife has been identified as that of a missing ten-year-old boy. Steven Henderson, 10, was reported missing on Saturday evening after failing to return home from playing with friends. He was last seen around 7:30pm in the Methil area, known locally as 'The Dam'.

A 12-year-old boy has drowned in the river Cam on the outskirts of Cambridge. The alarm was raised at around 18:10 on Tuesday evening when the boy didn't resurface after going into the water at Lammas Land at the Fen Causeway.

Body Of 14-Year-Old Boy Recovered From River
The body of a 14-year-old boy has been recovered from the River Avon between Bristol and Bath. The boy had been swimming in the water behind the Jolly Sailor pub in Saltford around 17:40 on Tuesday when he disappeared beneath the surface. Police, fire and ambulance staff searched for the boy, and his body was found at about 23:30.

Body Found In River Following Search For Missing Boy
A body has been found from the River Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire by police searching for a missing boy, believed to be 15-years-old. The boy went missing in the river near Church Lane in Harford on Thursday afternoon. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

River Search Resumes For 16-Year-Old
The search for a missing teenage boy who was swept into a river in Perth on Sunday has resumed. Friends of the missing 16-year-old raised the alarm just before 19:30 on Sunday night. It is understood that the boy got into difficulties while trying to cross the River Tay at North Muirton.
