Six Kids Left Home Alone Rescued From Fire
Six children have been rescued from a house fire in Manchester, after being left home alone.
Police have since arrested the children's mother on suspicion of child neglect.
The fire broke out in Oldham last night at around 10pm.
The children, aged between eight months and 11 years old had been left on their own.
Police are unsure how long the children had been alone in the house, however, it is understood the fire was started by a pan of food, left in a cooker.
The blaze tore through the kitchen of the semi-detached house.
After being rescued by the emergency services, the children were treated for smoke inhalation.
Greater Manchester Police today confirmed they were questioning the 36-year-old mother of six, who is being held in police custody.
It is unlikely the mother will be named, in order to protect the identity of her children.
