Third Shropshire Mansion Body Identified As Kirstie
The third body found at the site of the burnt-out mansion in Shropshire destroyed in a huge blaze last month has been identified as 15-year-old Kirstie Foster.
West Mercia Police have revealed the schoolgirl was identified after DNA testing, which followed her body's discovery in the remains of Osbaston House, Maesbrook, in Shropshire. The actual cause of her death is not yet known.
The bodies of Kirstie's parents Jill and Christopher had also found in the debris of the property.
Post mortem examination reports, which took place after the fire - which occurred on August 26 - revealed Mrs Foster died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Tests are ongoing to establish the cause of death of Mr Foster and his daughter.
Mr and Mrs Foster had been earlier identified from dental records.
Detective Superintendent Jon Groves, leading the inquiry, said earlier this month police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
"A full report is being prepared for the coroner for Mid and North Shropshire, John Ellery, who will hold a full Inquest in due course," he said, noting that the results of the latest DNA tests came through yesterday confirming the third body was Kirstie.
Inquests will be opened for identification purposes and will be adjourned at a later date.
