Briton Killed In Argentina Shooting
A British man has been killed in Argentina after reportedly being shot by two men on a motorcycle.
Harry Christopher, 29, was shot multiple times in the back in the Moron area of Buenos Aires province on Friday, according to local media reports.
Chief Prosecutor Federico Nieve Woodgate, said: "Mr Christopher died in the street after being shot several times by one of two men riding a moped.
"From the accounts of witnesses it seems to have been a bungled robbery.
"Two men rode up to him on the moped, and one grabbed his backpack. Mr Christopher wrestled the bag back, and was running off when he was shot five times.
"He died on the floor a few minutes later.
"The two men escaped, leaving behind the victim's bag, which contained a laptop computer and mobile phone."
Argentinian news website infobae.com has reported that detectives are investigating whether Mr Christopher's death could be connected to drugs.
The police source was quoted as saying: "We are checking the truth of much of the information we have received, because everything is still very confusing.
"In fact, in another hotel where the victim stayed, he gave a false identity and said he was Dutch."
Mr Christopher had told a number of people in the city, including his Argentinian girlfriend that he was from Belfast but his passport showed he was born in Luton.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman said his next of kin had been informed and consular assistance was being provided.
