Down-At-Heel Councillor To Receive Damages
A lady councillor who can no longer wear high heels after slipping in a pool of water at Stansted Airport has won the right to compensation.
Tina Knight, 66, who sits on Uttlesford District Council in Saffron Waldon, Essex, sought damages from airport cleaners Rentokil after the fall in June 2005 left her unable to wear her high heels.
In the fall Ms Knight broke her right little toe, twisted her knee, damaged her hip and dislocated her thumb
A spokeswoman for Ms Knight said: "Ms Knight's injuries mean a lot of her high-heeled shoes are now useless.
"She was a leading woman entrepreneur and over the years she has got a lot of posh shoes."
The Court of Appeal upheld a ruling made at Cambridge County Court earlier this year. The amount she receives in damages will be agreed in December.
