Balcony Fall Teenager 'Out Of Coma'
A teenager who was injured after falling from 35ft balcony in Gran Canaria is said to be out of a coma.
Lee Cook, 28, and Gemma France, 18, from Ashton-under-Lyne in the Greater Manchester area were discovered by a hotel night porter, lying in a pool of blood at the Casablanca Apartments in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria. They had checked into the hotel, on Monday.
The pair were on holiday with friends at the popular holiday resort.
Miss France, from Dukinfield has emerged from a coma but had multiple fractures to her head and neck.
Mr Cook's family have said the 28-year-old, from Mottram, Hyde, is recovering and should be released from hospital within a week.
Antonio Campos, Manager of the hotel where they were staying said: "At midnight last night the reception was told Mr Cook was better and was going home soon. But the woman is very bad," he said, noting it's believed she fell down first and the man was behind her and fell on top.
Thomas Cook, the agent which booked the holiday, said: "Our team in the resort are providing support and assistance to both the guests and their friends and family."
