UK Toddler Dies In Holiday Balcony Fall
An 18-month boy has died after falling from a hotel balcony in Sardinia, while on holiday with his family.
Brad Kremer, from Reading in Berkshire, fell from the first-floor balcony at the Chia Laguna Resort on the Mediterranean island on Saturday.
He was rushed to hospital in the island's main town of Cagliari, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Local police had said that the toddler's parents, Richard and Stacey, had been getting changed at the time of the incident and that Brad had been alone.
However, the child's parents issued a statement through the hotel, denying the claims.
The statement said: "We are absolutely devastated at the loss of our beautiful son Brad.
"I was on the balcony with my two sons. I turned to answer my eldest son and looked back to see Brad falling from the other side of the railings.
"We would like to make absolutely clear that at no time did we leave any of our children unattended.
"We have co-operated fully with the authorities and we will continue to do so."
Italian police have launched an investigation into the toddler's death.
