Boy Dies In Leeds House Fire
A seven-year-old boy has died following a fire at his home in Leeds, police have revealed.
A woman, aged 37, believed to be the boy's mother, and two other children are in hospital after the blaze in Brompton Terrace in the Beeston area at around 10.42pm on Monday evening.
West Yorkshire Police said the woman managed to rescue the boy's eight-year-old brother and six-month-old sister, and the eldest boy raised the alarm.
Firefighters were called to the scene and found the seven-year-olds body in an attic bedroom.
It is thought the fire was started by an electrical fault.
Police confirmed the boy’s mother and her two other children were being treated at Leeds General Infirmary suffering from smoke inhalation.
An investigation is being carried out by West Yorkshire Police. The fire is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
