Six Injured As Alsatians Attack
Two German shepherd dogs have attacked six people - including two children - after they escaped from their home in Filton near Bristol.
Ambulance crews confirmed four people were taken to hospital, a fifth person went on their own and a paramedic treated a sixth at the scene.
The dogs were seen barking and trying to attack passers-by on the junction of Filton Avenue and Shakespeare Avenue on Monday.
A 30-year-old man from Bristol was arrested under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
It was reported the animals escaped from their home in Shakespeare Avenue, before attacking two women outside.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the victims had no connection with the dogs.
Great Western Ambulance Service said: "Those taken to Frenchay by GWAS include a 15-year-old schoolboy bitten on the arm and a six-year-old bitten on her left side.
"The girl's 45-year-old mother was bitten on the forearm and bicep as she tried to fend the dogs off her daughter.
"A 34-year-old woman was also taken to hospital with reported puncture wounds."
The incident comes just days after three-month-old Jaden Joseph Mack was tragically mauled by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and a Jack Russell at his grandmother’s home in south Wales, prompting for calls to re-examine the existing Dangerous Dogs Act.
