Man Charged Over 'Homophobic Killing'
A man has been charged in connection with what may have been a homophobic killing. Gerry Edwards, 59, was stabbed to death and his partner Chris Bevan, 56, was also stabbed at Page Heath Villas, Bromley, in south-east London. David Kilcullen, 46, from Bromley, is accused of murder and attempted murder, and is due to appear at Greenwich Magistrates' Court on Monday. A 59-year-old man also arrested over the death was bailed to return in April. Mr Bevan is said to remain in a critical condition in hospital.

A 22-year-old is to appear in court today charged with the murder of a 56-year-old man whose body was found at his home. Anthony Williams was found in Waunsterw in the Rhydyfro area of Pontardawe, south Wales on Wednesday. A wooded area to the rear of the property was cordoned off by officers, as well as the house itself. South Wales Police said the man under arrest will appear before magistrates in Neath on Monday. An incident room has been set up at Port Talbot police station.
Teen Dies In Stabbing Incident
An 18-year-old man has died after he was stabbed in the chest in Livingston on Friday night. Lothian and Borders Police said the victim was involved in an altercation on a pathway to the rear of Rushbank at about 9.30pm. He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but died from his injuries. A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident, and is due to appear at Linlithgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
TV Licence Fee Raised
From 1 April, the cost of a colour television licence will be £142.50 and a black and white licence will be £48.00. The increase, to be brought into effect by an Order laid in the House of Commons today, follows the six-year BBC funding settlement which began in April 2007. The licence fee increase is set at three per cent for the first two years of the settlement and two per cent in years three, four and five. This is year three. Any increase (of up to two per cent) in year six will be set nearer the time.
25-Year-Old Charged With GBH
A 25-year-old man is to appear in court on a grievous bodily charge after a man aged 28 was stabbed in the chest. The man was arrested following what police described as a "disorder" incident involving two men and a woman, in West Park Road, Newport. Gwent Police said the injured man has been transferred to the University Hospital of Wales where his condition is stable. The man under arrest is due to appear before Newport magistrates later.

Suspected London bomber to be returned to UK
A British man wanted for questioning in connection with the failed London bomb attacks on July 21 is to be extradited to the UK within 35 days, an Italian court has ruled. Osman Hussein (27) will appeal the decision to the Italian Supreme court, according to his lawyers.

Two Charged Over Child's Death
A man and woman are due to appear in court today charged with the death of a four-year-old child. The 36-year-old man and 22-year-old woman from the Tyseley area of Birmingham, are due to appear at the city's magistrates' court charged with killing a four-year-old child through gross neglect, in April.

Sixth teen charged with stab murder
A 13-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of east London teenager Paul Erhahon - the sixth person to be charged in connection with the case. The youth, who was arrested in east London on Wednesday, has also been charged with the attempted murder of Paul's 15-year-old friend who was also stabbed in the attack.

A man from Portsmouth is due to appear in court today, 24 October, charged with the preparation of terrorism acts. Tuhin Shanesha, from South Sea, was charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London.
