Body Pulled From York River 'Not Claudia'
A body pulled from a river in York, is not that of missing university chef Claudia Lawrence, it has been confirmed.
A body was recovered at Bishopthorpe Bridge, close to where the A64 crosses the river, at 10.50am on Friday, North Yorkshire Police said.
No further details about the body have been released by police, and the area has been cordoned off.
Miss Lawrence has not been seen since she was spotted walking from York University where she worked as a chef to her home on March 18.
She has not been in contact with anybody since around 8.30pm that day. She failed to arrive at work at 6am the next morning and later did not meet a friend as arranged.
Police believed she may have come to harm after meeting up with someone she knew.

Megan Roberts Body Found In River
The body of 20-year-old student, Megan Roberts, has been found in a river. The body was found in the River Ouse after a pedestrian reported a sighting on Sunday afternoon in the Ouse, near a pub in Acaster Malbis, five miles south of York where she was studying.

Body Found By Reading River
The body of a teenage woman has been found close to the Kennet River in Reading. Police said the remains of the 19-year-old were discovered on the footpath a short distance from the A33, near the Green Park industrial estate in the Berkshire town last night.

Detectives Review Case Of Missing York Chef Claudia Lawrence
Police are carrying out a review of the investigation into the disappearance of chef Claudia Lawrence, who was last seen on 18 March 2009. A new major crime unit of North Yorkshire Police is reassessing the case and carrying out new forensic work at her home on Heworth Road. Police believe that Miss Lawrence was murdered.
