Two Year Jail Sentence For Newcastle Heroin Supplier
A man has been jailed for two years for supplying heroin in Newcastle.
Paul Michael Mullen, 33, of Canterbury Street, Walker, was jailed for two years when he appeared at Newcastle Crown Court last week.
As a result of intelligence, officers attended Mullen's house on Friday November 18, 2008, and arrested him.
He was in possession of 26.6 grams of heroin, split into sixteen individual packages. It had an estimated street value of around £2,660.
He was subsequently charged with possessing heroin with intent to supply and later pleaded guilty to the offence.
Walker Neighbourhood Inspector Terry McNamara said: "We will not tolerate drug use and supply in the area and continue to take tough enforcement action against those suspected of being part of such activity."

11-Year-Old Killed By Bus In Newcastle
An 11-year-old boy has died after being hit by a bus in Newcastle. Police reported that the accident happened at about 15:30 on Wednesday at Whickham View, near the junction with Broadmead Way. It is understood the boy was on foot when he was hit by a Stagecoach bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Newcastle man has been jailed for seven years after a significant amount of drugs were found in his home. Norman Leslie Morgan, 45, of Deanham Gardens, Fenham, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court for sentencing on 15 October after pleading guilty to supplying drugs in the city.
