Climber Dies On Isle Of Skye
A man has died after falling while climbing a mountain on the Isle of Skye.
Rescuers responded to reports two climbers had fallen near the Am Bastier Ridge in the Cuillins at 2.30pm.
Eighteen members were involved in the rescue.
Police said the man fell about 30m from the summit of Sgurr Nan Eag.
When members of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team and the Coastguard Helicopter from Stornoway arrived, they found one of the men dead at the scene.
Eighteen members of the mountain rescue team were involved in the rescue operation.
Further details of the deceased are not being released at this stage.

Son's rescue bid fails in Spanish climbing tragedy
Three British men died during a climbing expedition in Spain's Sierra Nevada Mountains, despite the attempts of one of the group to go for help. Stephen Riddiough was reported to have woken on Sunday to find the other members of the party - his father Colin, Paul Dick, both from Saltburn, and John Plews from Redcar - unconscious.

Appeal Issued For Man Who Failed To Return Home From Work
Police in Wolverhampton have issued an appeal for help in tracing 45-year-old Simon Wilkes, who failed to return home from work on Monday. It is understood that Mr Wilkes left his work place in Ettingshall Road at 16:30 on Monday, 3 August, but didn’t arrive at his home in Wood end Road, Wednesfield.

Five Missing Hill-Walkers Found
Police have safely located five of the missing six hill walkers who had not been seen since yesterday. Once contact had been made with the group it was established that one person was still outstanding from the party of six. The five were located on a hill near Carn Tarsuinn in the Cairngorms by Braemar Mountain Rescue Team at around 12:10pm today.

Man's Body Discovered In Highlands Tent
The body of a man has been found in a tent in the Highlands, police have confirmed. Around midday on Tuesday, Aviemore police station received a report that a tent, which had been spotted about a month ago by a local gamekeeper was still located at the south End of Loch Einich in the Cairngorms.

Plane Wreckage Found In Scottish Highlands
The wreckage of an aircraft has been found in the Scottish Highlands with the remains of a person inside. Police confirmed that the wreckage of the plane was found on Cairngorm Mountain, around 1km from the Funicular Railway, by the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team on Sunday afternoon. Police are now trying to trace the pilot's next-of-kin.
