Man Questioned Over Paris Hotel Death
Police are continuing to question a 39-year-old man in relation to the death of a Polish millionairess who was found beaten to death at a Paris hotel room.
The man was arrested on Monday morning in woodland near Macclesfield, Cheshire. It is understood he had been living rough in a tent in the woodland.
The man was arrested following a tip-off at around 3.30pm, Cheshire Police said.
The arrest follows an international manhunt, launched by police for Ian Griffin, after 36-year-old Kinga Legg was found dead at a £1,000-a-night hotel in Paris last Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: "Cheshire Police have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the French investigation into the death of Kinga Legg in Paris on May 25.
"The man was arrested in woodland in the area of Chelford in Macclesfield at 3.30pm.
"At this stage it would appear that the man has been living rough in a tent. Cheshire Police are liaising with the French authorities."
The body of Ms Legg, who was born in Poland but lived in Knutsford, was found by a cleaner at the Hotel Le Bristol last Tuesday.
French police confirmed she had died from "internal bleeding caused by multiple blows".
She owned international company Vegex, which supplied Tesco and other supermarkets with tomatoes.
The company has a site in Oxshott, Surrey and Opatówek, Poland.
