Man Dies In Motorbike Crash

A motorcyclist has died after the bike he was riding hit a roadside barrier near Bicester in Oxfordshire. The 42-year-old man had been travelling on the A41 close to Wendlebury when his blue Yamaha left the road as he approached junction 9 of the M40. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He will not be named until next of kin have been informed. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident, just after midnight on Sunday, to contact them.

Nineten-Year-Old Hurt In Cliff Fall

A 19-year-old man has been rescued after falling 100ft (30m) from a cliff top in Pembrokeshire. The man suffered serious injuries to his leg and arm and sustained serious head injuries in the fall at St Justinians, near St Davids. An RAF rescue helicopter took the man from Goodwick, Fishguard, to Morriston hospital in Swansea. St Davids coastguard and RNLI teams and paramedics treated the man before he was stretchered up the cliff.

Four Critical After Fire

Four people are said to be in a critical condition following a suspected arson attack on a house in south-west London. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the property in Lessingham Avenue, Tooting, at 4.35am on Sunday. Firefighters rescued five people from the house - one of them is described as being in a stable condition. Police have appealed for any witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to come forward.

New Quad Bikes Get More Throttle For Afghanistan

200 upgraded quad bikes have been ordered for use on the frontline in Afghanistan. The new all-terrain vehicles will boost the Armed Forces' ability to deliver vital combat supplies to troops on the ground. As part of a £5M contract, Yamaha, based in Weybridge, Surrey has supplied the quad bikes, with Logic, based in Hexham, Northumbria, supplying the trailers. Minister for Defence Equipment and Support, Quentin Davies, said: "The new quad bikes are already playing a vital role on operations, from providing logistics support to casualty evacuation. This additional delivery, complete with upgrades, will ensure that they continue this role."

Man Charged Over Fatal Shooting In Liverpool
A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Garston, Liverpool on Tuesday night. Police were called to reports of a road accident between a car and a scrambler bike on Banks Road in Garston at about 20:45 last night. However, when police arrived at the scene they found an 18-year-old man with serious gunshot wounds.

Father Charged Over Daughter's Quadbike Death
The father of a young girl who was killed while riding a quad bike has been charged with manslaughter. Seven-year-old Elizabeth Cooke died after a head-on collision with a Range Rover on Boxing Day last year near her home in Blackmore, Essex.

Cyclist Killed In Central London
Police are investigating the circumstances of the death of cyclist in central London. It is understood the female cyclist died after her Barclays Cycle Hire bike collided with a tipper truck. The accident happened at about 08:00 on Victoria Street.

British Embassy Vehicle Hit In Afghan Suicide Attack
One British citizen has been killed after a suicide bomber riding a motor bike struck a British embassy vehicle in Kabul. According to officials, four Afghan people were also killed and more than 30 were injured in the blast. A spokesman for the British Embassy confirmed the attack and is working with the relevant Afghan authorities.
