Police Hunt Gunman Following Shooting
A police hunt is underway after a man was shot dead in a quiet street in south east London.
Officers discovered a man seriously injured in Ludwick Mews, in New Cross, after they were called to the area of residents who heard gunshots at around 1.30am.
The victim - described as black and in his 20s - was taken to hospital but died shortly after.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed the man had been identified but some members of his family have yet to be informed of his death.
Members of Lewisham's Trident team, which specialises in gun crime, are investigating the incident.
