HSBC launch best of new business search
This week marks the launch of HSBC's nationwide search to find the best of new Start-Up businesses.
The HSBC Start-Up Stars awards honour the vital role of start-up businesses in the UK, where one in eight of the workforce is self-employed
The awards, endorsed by the DTI and the Confederation of British Industry, are designed to appeal to those people who start a business every year, and to inspire others who consider taking the plunge.
The winner will collect a £20,000 cash prize and the runner-up will receive £5,000. There will also be ten finalist prizes of free software and consultancy services worth a total of £30,000, courtesy of business specialists IRPC and software company, Intuit.
HSBC Start-Up Stars is open to any business less than two years old that can demonstrate it has creativity, determination and skills to succeed. The closing date for all entries is May 31, 2002 while winners will receive their prizes before an audience of 250 people at London's Savoy Hotel on Thursday October 3, 2002.
Entry forms for the awards are available from HSBC branches and will appear in the Daily Express. Businesses can also contact the Organiser's Office on Tel: 0870 902 3333.
Entries close on Friday 31 May, 2002 and judging will take place in September.
