High Street robberies investigated by police
Police in Northern Ireland are investigating an armed robbery on a Mace shop in Lisburn, Co Antrim.
Two men, aged between 25 and 30, armed with handguns held up staff at the shop on Moss Road and escaped with cash. The robbery occurred at about 7.45pm on Wednesday January 2.
Meanwhile, detectives at Musgrave Street are appealing for information about a robbery at a chemist’s shop on the Ormeau Road also on Wednesday. Shortly before 1.30pm two men, thought to be in their early 30s held up staff at Murray's Chemist.
One of the men was armed with a shovel. They made off with a sum of cash and a quantity of drugs including Cyclimorph, Tamazapam and Ritalin.
In a separate incident, police in Co Down are appealing for information about a burglary at a power tool distributor business.
The theft took place between 6pm on Monday December 31 and 5pm on Wednesday January 2 at Mercol Limited on the Portaferry Road, Newtownards. Tools worth thousands of pounds - including commercial heaters, strimmers and chainsaws - were stolen. (AMcE)

Police are appealing for information in connection with two armed robberies in north and south Belfast. A man, armed with a knife, threatened staff at a shop on the Ravenhill Road at around 8.20pm on Friday, 01 April. A sum of money was taken and the man got into a silver car which was parked on My Lady's Road.

Police in Belfast have appealed for information following a spate of armed robberies in Belfast last night and in the early hours of this morning. The first incident happened at around 8pm, when three men, one armed with a screw driver, entered a shop in the My Lady's Road area of the city.

Police have appealed for information following a number of armed robberies at the weekend. In the first incident, a man, armed with a knife, entered a butchers shop on the Springfield Road in west Belfast at around 4pm on Saturday and threatened staff.
