Kilrea company secures £1m in export orders
Business has been brisk at the Plan Expo Show for Kilrea-based MacGen Power Generation Ltd, who have succeeded in securing export orders worth almost £1 million at the Dublin event.
Over thirty companies attended the event, showcasing the best of Northern Ireland’s construction industry at a specially hosted LEDU stand. Commenting on the success of the show, LEDU Business Development Executive, Margaret Murphy, said: “Despite the forecasted slowdown, the calibre of enquiries were excellent and already several companies have converted leads into actual orders. We are delighted to confirm that MacGen Power Generation from Kilrea secured orders worth around £1 million at the show.
“Securing this level of business highlights how vital it is for Northern Ireland companies to continue to develop their profiles within the Republic of Ireland market and promote innovative products and services to those that matter within the Republic of Ireland market and promote innovative products and services to those that matter within the industry.”
Set up just two years ago, MacGen Power Generation has made quite an impression in the power generation market securing business with major hire companies, fast food outlets including McDonalds and several supermarket chains. Commenting on their success at the show, Fergal McIntyre of MacGen Power Generation Ltd, said: “Securing this significant export order at Plan Expo has given MacGen a tremendous boost and inspired us with much confidence. We have been making great efforts to increase our presence in the UK and hope that this will be achieved with the recent opening of a Scottish office in Sterling and by completing a service network to support anticipated growth.” (CL)

Next Generation Services Announced By KTN
The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), on behalf of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), has announced a series of competition briefing events across the UK for the £20 million Next Generation Services challenge.
