East Belfast Man 'Murdered'
A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was stabbed in east Belfast. The 31-year-old's body was found in a flat at the weekend. A post mortem will be carried out and police have asked for anyone with any information to contact them.
SDLP Seek Review Of Voting ID
SDLP candidates are seeking a review over voting identification. Papers have been lodged at the High Court in Belfast calling for a judicial review of the rules on identification at elections. The review has been sought by two SDLP candidates, Michael McGoldrick and Daniel Gouveia as they believe EU nationals should be allowed to use their own national identity cards when they vote. At the moment the only cards allowed by the electoral office are British and Irish passports, driving licences, travel cards and electoral identity cards.
Man Appears At Belfast Court On Rape Charge
A man has been remanded in custody charged with raping a woman in east Belfast in early April. Henry Thomas Magee, 42, is also accused of several other offences, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making a threat to kill the same alleged victim. He was remanded in custody at Belfast Magistrates Court to appear in court via video link later in May.
Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge
A 34-year-old man is to appear at Omagh Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder. The charge relates to the stabbing of a 52-year-old man at the weekend. The victim was found in the Market Square area of Dungannon, County Tyrone. It's understood the attack followed an altercation at Union Place in the town on Sunday evening.
Boy Injured In West Belfast Attack
A 14-year-old boy has had his jaw broken in an attack in west Belfast. The assault happened in the Lenadoon Avenue area at the weekend. The boy was attacked by two men thought to be in their late teens. He suffered other facial injuries in addition to the broken jaw. The first attacker is described as being about 5 ft 10, of slim build, with shaven hair and dressed in a grey/black horizontal hooded top. The second was about 5 ft 7, of medium build and was wearing a blue tracksuit. Police want to speak to anyone with information about the attack especially a woman who helped the boy after the assault.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Man Arrested Over East Belfast Stabbing
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing of a 66-year-old man in east Belfast on Tuesday afternoon. The attack occurred at Wolsey's tackle shop on the Upper Newtownards Road at about 15:30.
