Industrial Society aids the search for management talent
Business advisory organisation The Industrial Society has joined forces with online executive recruitment company Executives-Direct in an initiative designed to give their members the edge in the fight for management talent.
The partnership, which forms part of an increased membership package, is a direct response to the need cited by members of the Industrial Society for better ways to both find and recruit highly talented employees.
A recent report from the Industrial Society’s Futures team revealed that only one in four executives strongly agreed that their company attracts highly talented people. In an economy where intangible assets, especially human capital assets such as skills, creativity and knowledge now account for up to 80 per cent of the value of larger companies, the cost of missing out on talented employees is potentially extremely high.
Executives-Direct reverse the traditional executive recruitment process and allow recruited direct access via the Internet at www.executives-direct.com to a centralised database of professionally qualified managers and executives. This will enable Industrial Society members to directly access a talent pool of high-calibre jobseekers, as 68 per cent are from leading international business schools, and 60 per cent have ten or more years of work experience.
Liz Formby, Industrial Society head of membership, said: “This is the first commercial partnership that the Industrial Society has introduced to its members. It’s an innovative online solution which will enable SME members in particular, to access a talent pool that is not normally available to them as cost-effectively. It will also help larger members respond effectively and quickly to the changing dynamics of the marketplace.” (CL)
