Voting Opens For NI Rock Music Awards
Voting is now open in the inaugural Northern Ireland Rock Music Awards, which take place on Saturday 5 November, as part of Belfast Music Week.
Nine main categories are open to public voting – with a grand total of 39 awards up for grabs in all.
Each main category – Best Band', 'Best Musician', 'Best Industry Professional', 'Best Single', 'Best Album EP' and 'Best Live Act' – is sub-divided into a number of smaller categories, to make the awards as inclusive of the local music scene as possible.
For example, the Band, Single, Album/EP and Live Act categories are divided in Rock, Punk, Metal, Indie, Blues and Alternative sub-sections.
There are three other categories open for voting – 'Best Rock/Metal DJ', 'Best Alternative DJ' and 'Best Tribute Act'.
For further information, and to download a nomination form, log on to www.facebook.com/NIRockMusicAwards
The deadline for receipt of nominations is 5pm on Friday 30 September.
The awards ceremony will take place at Ma Nelson's, on Belfast's Lisburn Road, on Friday 5 November.
