Tragic Derry Stabbing Leads To Arrest
Following a good response from the public, a man has been charged with the murder of Christopher McGaughey in Londonderry.
The 56-year-old victim was stabbed to death at Hollymount Park in the Gobnascale area of the city at about 1am on Sunday.
Today, a 31-year-old man is due to appear at Derry Magistrates Court charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Earlier this week, police said 15 witnesses had come forward following their appeal for information about the fatal stabbing in which a female also sustained minor injuries during this incident.
They said to contact Detectives on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.

Man Arrested Following Two Stabbing Incidents In Belfast
A 27-year-old man has been arrested following two stabbing incidents in Belfast city centre. The injuries to both victims are not believed to be life-threatening. Inspector Donna McGrady said police were alerted at about 1.15am by a member of the public on Bedford Street to a fight going on in the area.

Man Released On Bail Over College Stabbing Incident
A man, 20, who was arrested in connection with a stabbing at a college in Belfast has been released on bail. Police said the man was released pending further enquiries. A 26-year-old is currently in hospital following the incident at Belfast Metropolitan College on Thursday. His condition is described as serious but stable.

At approximately 1.10am this morning, police received a report that two people had been stabbed at a property.

Police were called to the area at approximately 11.45pm after a 18 year old man was stabbed. The man was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries, which have been described as serious.
