RUC TREAT DEATH OF WOMAN AS SUSPICIOUS

IT is understood that the RUC is treating the discovery of a mother-of-two found dead at her home in Fintona as suspicious.

The woman, who was 62 years old, has been named as Minnie Deery, and was found at her home in the village of Fintona, near Omagh in County Tyrone around midday on Wednesday July 18.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out in order to establish the cause of death.

Two people were arrested and interviewed by police on Wednesday but were released on bail pending further police enquiries.

The parish priest Father Patrick Marron said that the local community were devastated and that her two children Gordon and Ann were understandably devastated at the loss of their mother.

Local SDLP councillor Patrick McDonnell said that he had known Mrs Deery very well and he explained that there was great shock in the town as the community tried to come to terms with the unexpected and sudden nature of her death (AMcE)
