Couple Charged With Mackin Murder
A married couple have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a man in Belfast last week.
Charles Stephen Valliday, 40, and Julie-Ann Valliday, 35, of Powerscourt Place, Belfast, are accused of killing Christopher Mackin last Thursday.
The 31-year-old victim was shot four times at College Square North in the city.
A Belfast court have now heard allegations that the husband and wife worked together to "lure" the victim into a trap. Police claim that Mrs Valliday enticed Mr Mackin to the scene where he was killed. It is understood that Mrs Valliday had been in contact with Mr Mackin 50 times in the three and a half hours before the murder by text and by phone call.
Meanwhile it is claimed that Mr Valliday is a known drug dealer in the Belfast area and his wife is a partner in the enterprise.
The couple have been denied bail on the grounds that the gun used to kill Mr Mackin is "still out there".
