Belfast Telegraph To Scrap Late Edition
Belfast Telegraph staff have been caught up in redundancy fears following an announcement that said the newspaper would stop printing its late edition.
The company said that the move would simply put them in line with other daily newspapers who also rely solely on their morning editions.
The switch to becoming solely a morning newspaper is to happen quickly, with an understanding that the changes will be put in place this Friday.
A spokesperson for the publisher said again that the move was made to bring the Belfast Telegraph in line with its competitors.
They said this means the paper will be printed, distributed and made available to readers at the same time as all other daily newspapers.
However other media reports have quoted journalists and analysts saying that the scrapping of the late edition was a money saving exercise and job cuts would follow.
