Man jailed for nail bomb attack

A Magherafelt man has been jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of throwing a nail bomb at a house in Co Londonderry.

Police arrested Gordon Robert John Stewart, 26, shortly after being confronted by householders, who he had tried to attack with the nail bomb, in July 2002.

The court heard how Stewart was so drunk that he fell asleep in the police car following his arrest.
