Heavy Snow Forecast For NI
A yellow weather warning has been issued for Northern Ireland, coming into affect on Thursday evening. It will remain in place until Saturday evening.
According to the MET Office, the first outbreaks of sleet and snow will arrive in Co Fermanagh and Co Armagh by dusk. An area of rain and sleet will move in from the south later, turning to snow.
A warning has also been issued to eastern coastal areas where there might be a risk of localised flooding.
Some inland areas of the region are expected to have in excess of 10cm of snow forecast.
Strong to gale force winds are also being forecast, expected to cause severe problems for many upland areas in particular.
A spokesperson for the MET Office said: "The public should be aware of the likelihood of a spell of difficult and disruptive wintry weather, with impacts on travel and, perhaps, on power supplies."

Motorists Warned To Take Care Following Heavy Snow Fall In NI
Motorists are being warned to take care on the roads following heavy snow fall in some areas of Northern Ireland. Temperatures plummeted to -1 degrees overnight leaving ice on the roads. A PSNI spokesperson said: "We don't need much snow and ice for our wee country to grind to a halt! "Leave extra time for your journey.

Heavy snow showers have affected many parts of Northern Ireland overnight and there is a Met Office severe weather warning in force. Snow depths ranged from one inch to six inches with many schools closing for the day because of the dangerous conditions.
