Heavy snow showers affect whole of NI
Heavy snow showers have affected many parts of Northern Ireland overnight and there is a Met Office severe weather warning in force.
Snow depths ranged from one inch to six inches with many schools closing for the day because of the dangerous conditions.
Drivers were also urged to take care on secondary roads because many have not been treated by DoE gritters and in the worst affected areas those that have been treated are in a dangerous condition due to lying snow.
The heavy snow has also led to Translink warning passengers of delays of up to 15 minutes on both bus and rail services.
Though the severe weather is set to continue into the weekend, forecasters expect that the snow falls will decrease in frequency and intensity.

Motorists are being warned to take care on the roads following heavy snow fall in some areas of Northern Ireland. Temperatures plummeted to -1 degrees overnight leaving ice on the roads. A PSNI spokesperson said: "We don't need much snow and ice for our wee country to grind to a halt! "Leave extra time for your journey.

Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning For NI
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Northern Ireland. A small number of schools were forced to close in County L'Derry, Tobermore, Draperstown and Maghera following heavy snowfalls. The PSNI are urging motorists to be very cautious on the roads.

NI gets back to normal following heavy snow
Northern Ireland was continuing to get back to normal on Friday following heavy snow falls overnight. Gritters were out across the province as snow and sub-zero conditions threatened to bring havoc to roads during morning rush hour traffic.

Heavy Snow Warning Issued For NI
Northern Ireland remains in the midst of winter despite the slight stretch in the evenings, and it appears next week is no different with a forecast of heavy snow and strong winds. A yellow weather warning for wind and snow will be in place on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 February.
