McAreavey Murder Photo Editor Found Guilty
A Mauritian newspaper editor who printed pictures of the body of murdered County Tyrone woman Michaela McAreavey has been found guilty in a Mauritian court, the BBC has reported.
Imraan Hosany was convicted of "outrage to public and religious morality" for publishing the photographs.
The 27-year-old woman was murdered on her honeymoon in Mauritius in January 2011.
On 15 July the following year, the Mauritian Sunday Times published pictures showing the crime scene, Ms McAreavey's body and her injuries.
Mr Hosany was arrested three days later.
The BBC has reported that magistrate Wendy Rangan has found Imran Hosany guilty. He will be sentenced on Thursday.
The pictures were initially taken just after the murder, but weren't published until after the acquittal of two men, Avinash Treebhoowon and Sandip Moneea, for the murder.
Ms McAreavey was known in GAA circles in Ireland as the daughter of Mickey Harte, manager of the Tyrone football team.
