Family Die In Suspected 'Murder-Suicide'
Three people, believed to be a family, have been found dead in a suspected murder-suicide in Spain.
According to the BBC, the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin said the two female deceased held Irish passports. It has been reported that the man was British.
The mother and daughter were found in the bedroom of an apartment in Mijas, on Spain's Costa Del Sol on Wednesday. The father was found in another room.
The couple, in their 50s, and their adult daughter - who was understood to have had a disability - had lived in Spain for a number of years.
The Irish department of Foreign Affairs said it was now liaising with Spanish police and was also trying to contact the dead women's relatives. The UK Foreign Office also confirmed it was aware of the incident and was working closely with the local police.
Spain's Guardia Civil said the house was rented and the landlord had raised the alarm after he had not heard from the family for a few days and had not been paid.
A police spokeswoman said: "The latest information we have is that the owner of the house had not heard from the family for a few days and had not been paid.
"He went to the house [on Wednesday] and when there was no reply at the door, he went inside. Inside he saw the man dead on the sofa and immediately called the Guardia Civil.
"When officers inspected the house, they found the wife and the daughter dead in a bedroom."
Reports from the region have quoted neighbours saying they had heard three shots in the area a number of days ago.
The bodies have been removed and the building is cordoned off.
The identities will be released following post-mortem examinations.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

The body of Mr Mee, aged 45, was discovered outside Millers House apartment block on Regent Street, Newtownards, just before 7.50pm on Tuesday, 26 July. Police believe he was in the apartment immediately beforehand.
