Friday Was The 'Hottest Day Of The Year'
New figures released by the MET Office reveal Friday (19 July) was NI's hottest day of the year so far.
Castlederg in Co Tyrone recorded a temperature of 30.1C.
However, it wasn't the highest temperature in the UK, with Porthmadog in Wales reaching 31.4C.
Northern Ireland's previous record was registered in Edenfel, also in Co Tyrone on Monday, at 29.9C.
Temperatures are expected to remain high for the region for a few more days, but there are also chances on heavy, thundery showers developing.
Brendan Jones, senior forecaster with MeteoGroup is quoted by UTV as saying: "From Monday to Wednesday it will be hot, and it is expected to be humid as well, which has not been the case so far."
Talking about the weather later this week, he added: "Some places are going to be seeing very active thunderstorms indeed, with a lot of lightning, and the possibility of flooding in a few places.
"From Wednesday to the end of the week it will be less hot, though still quite warm, with some rain around."

Detectives in Belfast are investigating a suspected arson attack on a 5G mast in the Andersonstown Road area. The incident occurred around 9.55pm on Wednesday, November 13th. Detective Sergeant Faulkner confirmed that officers attended the scene alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, who successfully extinguished the blaze.
