Amnesty Backs Omagh Bomb Review
Amnesty International is backing a call for a review of the investigation into the Omagh bomb.
The announcement comes as the families of those affected reveal that new evidence has emerged into how the authorities might have prevented the attack.
29 people were killed and more than 200 hundred were injured during the 1998 Real IRA attack on the Co Tyrone market town.
Among the dead was a woman who had been pregnant with twins.
No-one was ever convicted, but four men, Michael McKevitt, Liam Campbell, Colm Murphy and Seamus Daly were found liable following a civil case taken by the families.
New details are expected to be revealed today that will shine new light on the attack and the subsequent investigation.
Amnesty's Northern Ireland programme director Patrick Corrigan said: "Fifteen years since the bomb ripped through Omagh, taking lives and causing injury, the families bereaved and those injured by the bomb are still left seeking the full truth about what happened that day and whether it could have been prevented.
"Beyond addressing the families' need for answers, there remains a broader public interest in establishing such an inquiry, in order to prevent such a tragedy recurring."

House Damaged In Petrol Bomb attack
A house in Larne has been damaged in a petrol bomb attack, according to police. It happened on Church Way at around 10.30pm on Wednesday. A man was in the house at the time but was unhurt. Minor damage was caused to the property and a window was smashed. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

West Belfast 'Suspect Object Viable'
There was a security alert in west Belfast today after a suspicious object was discovered in Ardmoulin Place earlier on Tuesday. Army bomb experts were tasked to the scene and a number of homes were evacuated and the police later said the object was a "small viable device" and that is had been removed for further examination.

Viable Pipe Bomb Found In North Belfast
A viable pipe bomb has been found in north Belfast, police have confirmed. Police and army bomb experts discovered the device in the garden of a house in Shore Crescent on Monday. The pipe bomb has been removed for further examination. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Lisburn On Alert As Pipe Bomb Explodes
There's an ongoing security alert in progress in Lisburn, Co Antrim after a pipe bomb device exploded at 9.30am this morning. A family escaped injury in the blast and the PSNI have said this afternoon that is not clear if the explosion occurred when the car drove over it, or that it had fallen off the vehicle.

Overnight gun and pipe bomb attacks
A number of people have escaped injury after a series of gun and pipe bomb attacks on their homes in County Antrim. A ten-year-old boy escaped in jury after shots were fired into a house at Mounthill Drive in Cloughmills, County Antrim.
