Brother and sister in court over murder charge
A brother and sister have appeared before Newtownards Magistrates' Court today in connection with a murder in Crawfordsburn earlier in the month.
Robert Young, 39, an unemployed bricklayer from Ulsterville Park in Portadown, and his sister Lorraine Young, 37, a client executive from Church Hill in Holywood, both deny involvement in the killing of Jim Johnston outside his Ballyrobert Road home on May 8.
Police believe the shooting was linked to a drugs feud in the area.
The pair where remanded in custody to appear via videolink in court later this week.
Mr Johnston was believed to be a senior figure in the loyalist paramilitary group, the Red Hand Commandos.

Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.
