Met Office Issues Yellow Rain Warning
The Met Office has issued a Yellow Warning for Northern Ireland, following a morning of torrential rain and wind in parts of the country.
Further outbreaks of heavy, thundery, rain are expected to spread from the south during today and overnight into Friday, with the potential for some torrential downpours in places.
Met Eireann, the Irish meteorological service, said: "Outbreaks of rain in the east will spread to most parts this morning. This rain will be heavy and persistent at times with a risk of localised flooding. However; it will be drier in the far west with just scattered showers. Mild with highs of 16 to 18 Celsius in moderate to fresh southeast breezes. Winds will become light southerly during the afternoon."
The UK Met Office has warned the public to be aware of the risk of flooding.

The Met Office said the rain could bring flooding issues and driving conditions may be difficult. Periods of snowfall are also expected over higher ground.

The party's Executive Office spokesperson, Paula Bradshaw MLA, has called on the First and deputy First Minister (FMdFM) must meet victims and survivors urgently over memorialisation and other issues.

Strong winds of up to 60mph are expected to move across the country later today, 1 June. Heavy rain is also expected, while large waves have been predicted along the south and east coasts.
