Dissidents Blamed For Bomb Attack On Police Car
Dissident republicans have been blamed for a bomb attack on a police vehicle in the Creggan Heights area of L'Derry on Sunday evening.
Chief Inspector Alan Hutton said: "At this stage we can confirm that an explosive device has caused damage to the rear door of a police vehicle. The incident occurred at around 20:40 on Sunday evening. Thankfully none of the officers in the vehicle have been injured.
"We are extremely fortunate there were no serious injuries or deaths. This is not only a reckless attack on my officers but also on the residents in this area.
"Our investigations are continuing and I would urge members of the public to be cautious and vigilant and report anything suspicious to local police immediately."
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area yesterday evening or who may have any information about the incident is asked to contact police at Strand Road Station on 101.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Teenager Arrested Over North Belfast Stabbing
A teenage boy has been arrested following the stabbing of a man at a house in north Belfast. The 16-year-old was arrested shortly after the incident, which occurred on Thursday evening in the Duncairn Parade area just after 19:00. The 20-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an act of indecent exposure in south Belfast. Police are investigating an incident in the Malone area at about 19:00 on Sunday evening. Youths attack police in west Belfast
Police are appealing for information after officers were attack by around 100 youths in west Belfast yesterday evening. The incident occurred in the Albert Street area of the Falls Road at around 6.30pm following reports of dangerous driving. When officers arrived a gang of around 70 youths began throwing stones and other missiles at police.
