Pair Held At Gunpoint In Co Antrim

A man and woman have been held at gunpoint by two masked men in Newtownabbey, County Antrim.

The incident occurred at a house in Ballycraigy Gardens at around 11pm on Monday.

The masked men entered the property through the back door, held the pair at gunpoint and demanded their car keys.

The men made off in a white Peugeot 308 which was discovered on fire on the Kiln Road a short time later.

A handbag is also reported to have been stolen.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

The meeting follows a spate of raids where families had been held hostage, as money is handed over to armed gangs. Last month, an 87-year-old woman, her son and her daughter were held hostage by an armed gang in their Londonderry home.

Bus driver robbed at gunpoint
Masked men have robbed a bus driver at gunpoint in Londonderry. The driver had stopped for a passenger at Belmont on the Racecourse Road, just after 10pm on Thursday evening. Two masked men got on the bus and threatened him and demanded cash. One of the men pointed what appeared to be a gun at the driver. They stole around £100 before running off.
