Police Appeal Over Attempted Armed Robbery In Ballymena
Police are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery at a shop in Ballymena, Co Antrim.
The incident occurred at a shop in the Larne Road area just after 7.40pm on Wednesday.
A masked man armed with a knife demanded a staff member to open the till. However, the employee threw water over him and he made off empty handed.
The man was dressed in a navy hooded top, navy tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
Chief Inspector Ball said: "I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives in Ballymena Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Detectives in North Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery in the Crumlin Road area on Tuesday evening. At approximately 7.45pm, a man armed with a suspected firearm entered a commercial premises.
