Severe Gale Force Winds Expected Across NI

Prolonged heavy rain and gale force winds are expected to last until the early hours of Sunday morning, according to the Met Office.

Severe gale force winds with gusts of up to 50mph are expected in some places and there is also a high risk of flooding in some areas.

The Met Office has issued a 'Yellow' weather warning across Northern Ireland.

Travel is also expected to be disrupted and police are urging motorists to take extra care on the roads.

Gale Force Winds Expected In NI Over Christmas Weekend
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning in Northern Ireland over the Christmas weekend. Storm Barbara is expected to bring gale force winds of up to 70mph across the region. The warning has been put in place from 9am on Friday, 23 December.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for gale force winds and snow across Northern Ireland. The warning has been put in place from Wednesday, 11 January, until 12pm on Thursday, 12 January. Gale force winds of up to 70mph are expected in some places with increasing wintry showers.

NI Prepares For Gale Force Winds
Gale force winds are expected to hit Northern Ireland early tomorrow evening, according to the Met Office. Northern Ireland's forecast has been upgraded to 'yellow' for tomorrow and Thursday, due to strong winds along the east and north coasts.
