Police and army bomb experts are at the scene.
The Sydenham Road has been closed and diversions have been put in place.

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A security alert in east Belfast on Wednesday, 18 September, has been declared a hoax. The alert began shortly after 1.15pm when police received a report of a suspicious object in the Church Road area. The PSNI immediately launched a public safety operation, closing Church Road between Manse Road and the Ballygowan Road.

Suspicious Object Discovered In East Belfast
A security alert is ongoing in east Belfast. The alert began when a suspicious object was discovered in Madrid Street at about 7am today, 28 June. Homes in the area have been evacuated while Army Bomb Experts carry out an examination. The street has been closed to traffic and pedestrians.

A road in west Belfast has been closed following the discovery of a suspicious object. The Springfield Road has been closed and diversions have been put in place at the junction of Springfield Road, West Circular Road and Pollard Street. The PSNI are currently at the scene. No further details have been released.
